I love werewolves and Regifted is a werewolf Christmas tale.
Fern has no idea the Christmas gift given to her on Christmas Eve is a regift. The perfume smells divine and unbeknownst to Fern it has an added benefit. The scent is packed with pheromones that attract werewolves.
Pace is spending the holiday weekend in the city, a lonely Christmas away from his pack. A major power outage plunges the city into darkness. Pace has a choice: spend Christmas alone or invite his new neighbor with the alluring scent for a candlelight drink…
Fern unlocked her door and turned toward Pace. “I had a great time. Thanks for dinner.”
“It was fun.” He tilted his head. “I enjoyed spending the evening with you.”
Fern lifted her chin and welcomed the light brush of his lips. A delicious tingle slid down her spine. She placed her palm on his chest and leaned into the kiss. Several heartbeats later, he raised his head. “If you need anything, just knock on my door.”
Warm all over from the heat of his kiss, she wished him goodnight. Flashlight in hand, Fern stepped inside her apartment and locked the door. The beam of the flashlight cut through the darkness.
It’s just like camping and Pace is just down the hall. A light tap on the door made her start. “Fern, it’s Pace.” Relieved, she unlocked the door.
A soft glow from two flameless candles surrounded Pace. “I forgot to give you the candles.” He placed the glowing candles on the counter separating the kitchen from the living room. “I don’t know how long the batteries will last so keep your flashlight handy.”
Fern switched off her flashlight and set it by the flameless candles. At the door, she thanked him. “Without the streetlights my apartment is like a cave. I’m still getting used to living alone in the city.”
“A blackout can be unsettling.” He cupped her face. “Fern, I can stay for awhile.”
“Come here.” He drew her into his arms and gave her a hug. “We Northerners have to stick together. Can’t let a little storm get us down.”
She liked being in Pace’s company. He reminded her of home. Secure in his embrace, Fern relaxed. “I feel better already.”
“Good.” He tilted his head, then settled his lips against hers.
Fern slipped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. He deepened the kiss.
Her heart pounded and her blood heated. She wanted to remain in his arms and banish the dark. Pace lifted his head.
Fern wanted him to kiss her again. “Uhmmm, that was nice.”
“I couldn’t resist,” he said. “Werewolves react to scent and your perfume is irresistible.”
