Aiden Moriarty is a Florida ‘herbalist’ who developed a performance enhancing drug many athletes have used. One of them is baseball star Ivan Salerno, who was caught using the drugs and is now on the brink of getting suspended. Because of Ivan’s connections with a rogue mob boss, Aiden is taken into a witness protection program, working along with baseball higher ups until he testifies.
The mob boss, Augustine Ora, has hired former British military officer and his best hitman, Devlin ‘Brit’ Crawford, to do the job. Ora has instructed Devlin to go to Miami, kidnap Aiden and take him to the local airport to be transported to Havana ,Cuba, to be executed by Ora’s top officers.
However, when Devlin receives the email, the pictures of the blue-eyed felon catch his eye and he is moved to go in a different direction. Instead of delivering Aiden to the airport, he has thoughts of taking him away and saving him from Ora’s wrath.
This move puts him, Aiden, as well as his assistant Miranda Ashley in huge danger. Will Devlin keep Aiden safe despite the odds or will he fail, causing Ora and his men come after him?

“Go on, in the car with you.” Devlin growled, pushing Aiden in the direction of his truck. When he sat inside, Devlin immediately grabbed his wrists and clamped on handcuffs behind his back. He placed his weapon down a moment.
“Ugh. Damn you like it kinky, hmm? Like I said, if you would’ve asked me out first, then maybe I would’ve gladly submitted.”
Devlin laughed and took hold of it again. “Yeah, I’m quite sure of that.” With one hand still on the trigger and an eye on Aiden, Devlin plucked his phone out of his pocket. “Call Miranda.”
The moment he spoke the words, the phone spoke back and the call was in progress. Devlin watched Aiden with interest, trying his best to resist the hot American and not thrust his tongue down his throat. He moistened his lips and shook his head, wishing for his pretend wife to pick up the phone.
Come on, Miranda. I need some friendly intervention, here.
Just as he was about to hang up, a female’s voice answered. “Hiya, D. What’s up?”
“Hi Miranda, where are you right now, love?”
“I’m in Jacksonville just as you told me to be. Are you having second thoughts already?”
“I’m, uh, well, yeah I am. I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore. The boss will be quite cheesed off if I don’t deliver the goods to him as he asked.”
“Yeah, but the goods meant a little to you, didn’t they? I got a suite at the Indigo waiting for the bloke to take a shower and all as well as a change of clothes.”
Devlin grinned at his assistant’s attention to detail. “Wonderful, love. At least if I change my mind he’ll look and smell good then. What’s the addy?”
“Messaged you with it, D. See you in a lil’ bit, right?”
“Ta.” Devlin pressed the disconnect button and sighed heavily. Miranda would talk him out of this crazy notion that he’d keep Aiden Moriarty away from Boss Ora, right?
Devlin wiped his head. “All right, mate. Be a good boy on this drive over. I might have alternate plans for you but I haven’t figured everything out yet.”
Aiden turned around quickly with a smile. “You do? You wanna save me from that monster.” His tone sounded hopeful.
“I’m not quite sure. Still deciding if you’re worth me walking away from this bundle of money he’s offering.”
Aiden sighed, “How much is he giving you?”
Devlin didn’t want to share that bit of information with his captive. “A fucking mint, Aiden, but sometimes my conscious gets the best of me.”
“Hey listen, I am, man. I’ll give you anything you want so we can bring these wretched assholes down together.” Aiden moved in his seat, closer to Devlin.
“No, no stay where you are. No moving or else I will shoot you. You wouldn’t want that now, right?”
Aiden gulped hard. “No…I…I wouldn’t. I was just thinking that since we were up on that balcony and both feeling a little horny.”
