FIVE HEARTS, TRS Review by Dyanne Doezz
“B.J. McCall weaves a very life engaging coming together of two physical personages. And turns them into sensual all encompassing characters that work jointly to bring about a union like no other.”
A shadow fell over her, swirling the air around her and billowing the silk robe. Wind, created by the flapping of powerful wings, blew her hair across her face. Unable to believe what she saw before her, Lani blinked several times. The image remained, brilliant and awe inspiring. Her heart hammered and her senses sizzled.
Lani lifted her hand to shield her eyes from the bright sunlight and gasped at the male dragon hovering above the rooftop. Emerald eyes glowing and bright green scales glistening, the dragon flipped its long tail and landed on the roof.
Spellbound, Lani stared at the magnificent creature before her. His similarity to the dragon depicted on her robe was uncanny. “Who are you?” she asked.
His voice rumbling deep in his chest, the dragon bowed his large head and introduced himself. “Ryce Ayard.”
She extended her hand. “I’m Lani Kalann Jaran.”
He touched his nose to her fingers. On his right earlobe a brilliant emerald stud glinted in the sunlight.
“I’m very pleased to meet you, Ms. Jaran.”
Looking him over, Lani figured he was a few years older than she. “Where are you from, Mr. Ayard?” she asked, her voice surprisingly steady despite the butterflies in her stomach.
“I live alone on an island off the coast of Florida in the Keys. Please, call me Ryce.”
“Please, call me Lani. What brings you to California, Ryce? Business or pleasure?”
“I’ve always wanted to visit the West Coast and the refuge offers comfortable accommodations for a sunflyer.”
A sunflyer! Lani’s heart pounded, fast and furious. Not only was he a magnificent dragon, he was an unmated dragon. But was Ryce her true mate?
