Welcome to the TRS Party—woo-hoo!
Today I’m spotlighting my April release, Word of Honor. It’s Book #1 in The Knights of Valor, my very first series.
As a reader, I adore series. I love meeting up with familiar characters and getting to revisit them beyond a single book. I know what I’m in for and enjoy that experience. I’m hooked on the Bridgertons, Maisie Dobbs, Jack Reacher, Stone Barrington, Lincoln Rhymes, Cotton Malone, and many other recurring characters.
As a writer, though, I’d never attempted a series. I’ve previously written 9 other romances—3 medieval historicals, 4 western historicals, and 2 romantic suspense novels. This new series is proving to be a fun and fascinating challenge for me. The great thing is that I don’t have to say goodbye to characters that I’ve grown close to after I’ve written their love story.
Word of Honor features Geoffrey and Merryn de Montfort, and these two will appear in the next 5 books that follow. Sometimes they are a larger part of the plot, while sometimes they will play a small role in a new couple’s romance. Through it all, readers will see Geoffrey and Merryn’s love grow over the years, as well as be introduced to new heroes and heroines and see their love stories unfold.
So what is Word of Honor about? Here’s the blurb:
Merryn Mantel and Geoffrey de Montfort have loved each other since childhood. Once betrothed, Geoffrey leaves for the wars in France for five long years. Upon his return, the two marry and spend one blissful night consummating their love and making plans for their future.
But her new husband vanishes the next day without a trace. Merryn grieves for almost seven years—and then Geoffrey returns to her—changed from the boy and man she knew and worshipped. This stranger refuses to reveal where he has been and why he stayed away for so long.
Will her husband’s silence create a rift too large to heal, or can Merryn and Geoffrey recapture the love they once shared?
