Blurb:
Five men, enslaved by a vampire pirate and forced to do his bidding, rebelled against their master and earned the wrath of a monster. Now, while plotting to destroy the man who, centuries later, still thinks he owns them, they use their powers to protect other victims.
In a seedy underworld of sex and violence, a serial killer is stalking men and Guy is called upon to find the murderer. Ryan, a professional Dom known as the Beast Tamer, specializes in meting out pleasure and pain to oversized men. While undercover, Guy and the sexy young man with a mysterious past become lovers, but is Ryan the next victim or is he the killer?
The following excerpt from Whips and Chains is for readers 18 and over.
Seconds later the door opened. A man about his height of six feet with short brown hair, some jaw line scruff and spellbinding blue eyes stared at him. He had a cut lip that had started to heal but would probably bleed from a rough kiss. Guy’s fangs ached and his cock stirred. Drinking blood wasn’t just a myth attached to vampirism, but very real. The myth was that vampires had to ravage victims. That was reserved for monsters like Tarun. He’d used his powers to destroy, to cause pain in almost everything he did. Friend or foe were equally in danger of feeling the sting of his wrath.
“Yes?” Ryan asked, driving off the memory of Tarun.
“Hey.” Guy offered his most charming smile. “I just rented the space across the hall.”
“Congratulations.”
Guy bristled. So Ryan was a smartass. It figured.
“Just wanted to introduce myself. Guy Tarunson.”
Those blue eyes swept him from head to toe, then once again held his gaze. “Ryan.”
“Just Ryan?”
“I’m called the Beast Tamer. That’s all you need to know, my friend.”
“Oh I’m not your friend.”
Ryan raised an eyebrow, as if trying to figure out exactly what Guy meant by that.
“At least not yet,” Guy added with what he hoped was another disarming smile.
“I don’t make friends easily.” Ryan tried to close the door, but Guy held it open.
“Are you always this sociable?”
“What exactly do you want?”
“Just trying to get to know some people around here. That’s all. It’s been over a year since I’ve been here–“
“You worked here before?” For some reason this seemed to thaw Ryan the slightest bit.
“I worked out of here. Like I said, I’m renting space. Neither the manager nor the owner have anything to do with me or my clients.”
Ryan folded his arms across his chest and nodded.
“How about you?” Guy asked. “Are you the boss or a working boy?”
“No one tells me what to do. I tell them.”
At that moment, a guy about six-foot-five with muscles like a gorilla approached. Tattoos covered his shaved head as well as his chest and arms.
He stopped at Ryan’s door, glanced from Ryan to Guy and back again, but said nothing.
Ryan met the hulk’s gaze, a hard expression in his eyes, and moved just enough for the man to squeeze by.
“Excuse me. I have a session,” Ryan said to Guy.
“That’s one huge dude.” Guy chuckled.
“I’m the Beast Tamer. I only do huge dudes.” Again Ryan tried to shut the door and again Guy stopped him.
“I’m not a huge dude, but as a professional courtesy would you have dinner with me sometime?”
The faintest smile tugged at Ryan’s lips. “All right. Sometime.”
“Tonight?”
He continued staring at Guy in a way that made the vampire’s gut tight. Shit, he hadn’t felt like this in. . .too many years to count. Something about Ryan made his heart beat faster. Yes, contrary to legend vampires had heartbeats and at the moment Guy’s was pounding. All he could think about was how Ryan’s blue eyes would look when the man was on the verge of orgasm.
“What time?” Ryan asked.
Have not gotten into your Saloni Quinby books yet… they are on my list though.
Hi Colleen! In Saloni books, the couples are usually in some kind of danger, especially in this new series.
Thanks!
