Marissa O’Neill and Jurden Bailey share a past which they don’t remember, though it’s haunted their dreams for a decade. In their teens, they encountered something powerful in a cave in Mexico, and it changed them forever. But it isn’t until they meet again, years later that they realize just how much they’ve changed.
Suddenly they have these powers—super powers—and they don’t know how they’re supposed to use them or why they have them. All they know is that sex seems to trigger the power and enhance it. And that’s one trigger they’re happy to explore.
But something alien and terrifying is trying to kill them and it won’t give up until it gets what they don’t even know they have—the single remaining object that can tie an advanced, alien race to much of Earth’s history.
If only Rissa weren’t so distracted by the things Jurden’s vibrating finger can do!

They stood in silence for a long moment, lost in strange and slightly terrifying thoughts. Then Jurden glanced up. “Wait a minute! Do you mean we have to kiss every time we want to change form?”
She grinned. “Would that be bad?”
“Not a chance. But it might get kind of embarrassing in certain situations.”
Her grin faded. “Oh, yeah. Well, maybe we can slip into a phone booth or something. Like Superman.”
Jurden’s laugh held heat. “Superman would be so jealous. He didn’t have any fun at all in that phone booth. I’m the luckiest super hero in the world.”
“We both are,” Rissa agreed. “What should we call ourselves?”
“The Thermodynamics?”
“Sounds like a bad music group.”
He reached out and tugged on a dark curl, smiling as it sprang energetically back to frame her face. “If we’re gonna be super heroes we’ll need to practice our tricks.”
She lowered her eyelashes and placed a hand on his chest. “Yeah. I’m really rusty.”
He dipped his head, touching her lips in a gentle kiss. “I don’t want to embarrass myself if I go into that phone booth and nothing happens.”
She pulled his bottom lip into her mouth and sucked, sliding her tongue over its surface in a slow, sensual glide. “We’ll need to find a phone booth first. The closest equivalent today is a Verizon store.”
Jurden wrapped his arms around her and pulled her up tight against his body. “One problem at a time. First we need to create fire and ice.”
Rissa sighed and let the heat start to build. It coiled in her belly and spread outward, turning her whole body liquid with sensual heat. Jurden’s lips left her mouth and drifted downward, settling a heated line of touches along her jaw line as his fingers drifted upward, along her sides.
She shivered as his hands swept around to her back, rubbing in slow circles that sent desire shooting into her belly and pooling between her thighs. Her nipples ached with the need to be touched, and her belly quivered with it.
His lips found the spot at the base of her throat where her pulse pounded for him, and he suckled gently there, bringing a tiny whimper of lust trickling from her throat. “Let’s go get comfortable,” she told him, even as her head dropped back to give his exploring mouth better access.
“In a minute.” Jurden skimmed his hands up under her lightweight T-shirt and carried it up with them, pulling it off over her head. He buried his face between her breasts and slid his tongue along the warm, sweetly scented curves. He inhaled her scent and felt it driving straight through him to thicken his shaft and make his balls ache.
In all the years since he’d first met Rissa, he’d never once met another woman who affected him as she did. When he was with her, it was as if they were two parts of the same whole. A perfect set… a matched pair.
Her soft moan made his cock throb hungrily. If he didn’t climb inside her body soon he thought he might lose his mind.
Grabbing her around the tops of her thighs, Jurden picked her up and turned with her toward the bedroom. She wrapped her arms and legs around him and found his lips, spearing her sweet tongue between them to dance eagerly with his.
Jurden’s need matched hers in intensity. His body felt like a giant, flickering candle dancing toward her magnetic presence. He lay her down on the bed and stripped off his shirt, his keen gaze locked on her every movement as she removed her bra and reached for the waistband of the silk boxers she’d put on after her shower.
He nearly groaned as her creamy skin was finally displayed for him, every long, scrumptious inch of her spread across the bed like a banquet before a starving man. “You’re so beautiful.”
Rissa bit her lip, embarrassed. “So are you.”
He stood naked before her, his heavy shaft stretching toward her like the flames on the candles had stretched toward him. Hungrily. Hopefully. He looked down at the pile of discarded clothing on the rug. He’d been so enraptured by her that he didn’t even remember taking off his jeans and briefs.
Rissa lifted her arms to him and he started to glow, the golden aura spiking outward, sizzling on the air. She met his display with one of her own, creating a silver lens through which her lush curves and perfect features looked even more beautiful.
He knew when he touched her there would be an explosion. An internal one… of the senses… the heart. He’d felt it building for a long time, since long before he’d seen her again.
He hadn’t recognized it for what it was until just that moment. But he recognized it now. And it made his heart pound against his ribs with anticipation and excitement. It would be a merging of two halves into a single whole.
Finally.
