* Hi everyone! You like anthologies, right? Good, cause I have another one for you.
* I wanted to share with you an anthology my alter ego, Casey Moss, has a story in. Keyboards and Kink is a thirteen author anthology with spicy stories revolving around the online world. Pick up this book and heat up the winter nights with these hot reads! My contribution to this anthology is a story called AFK & of course it’s set here in Las Vegas! It follows a woman who’s been dumped and escapes reality through a MMPORPG.
~ Blurb for Keyboards and Kink ~
* A night at home on the computer doesn’t have to be boring…
* Feel like chatting? Or maybe doing something more daring? The stranger reaching out across cyberspace could be a creepy pervert, but what if he wasn’t? What if he’s a vampire, the sexy boy next door, or even your gorgeous boss?
* Thirteen tales explore all the delicious possibilities when online relationships lead to sexy encounters away from the keyboard.
~ Blurb for AFK ~
* Introduction story to the MMPORPG world of C.O.V.E.N. Available in the Keyboards and Kink anthology at Evernight Publishing.
* AFK is a short urban fantasy/paranormal/sci-fi, m/f, erotic story.
* Lizbet “Beth” Hayes has been dumped by her boyfriend and betrayed by her best friend. To escape from reality, she stays home and delves into work by beta-testing a massively multiplayer online role-playing game — C.O.V.E.N., Clans of Vegas-Endless Night — the company she works for is creating. She’s consumed by the fantasy game, even going so far as to develop a crush on a vampire-warlock character named Godric. When a horrible thunderstorm hits, she’s sucked into the game for real and hooks up with the character. But fantasy can’t take the place of reality. Somehow she has to get home, and when she gets back, she and the man who’s stolen her heart have to find each other.
~ Excerpt for AFK ~
* She enjoyed a brief moment of pleasure from Godric’s scent. Leather and wool. Male musk denoting strength and virility. If only he weren’t an enemy of my clan.
* A slight breeze carried a hint of copper. Blood? Perhaps. She just hoped it wasn’t his. She’d been tracking the man from the Winchapel clan for too long to let her quarry fall prey to someone else’s hands. Besides, if she had a chance to be alone with Godric Winchapel again—even if only for a few minutes—she’d take the opportunity to derive some personal pleasure from his presence. It’d be wonderful to have his strong arms wrap around her, his hot mouth on her skin, her lips, her breasts. She wanted his fingers threading through her long ebony hair, gripping the lengths in his fist as he took her.
* Bella shook her head to clear the licentious thoughts. Gah! No matter how nice it’d be to escape the ravaged city through his touch, I have to stop daydreaming about him.
* Days prior to receiving orders setting her on the path to find a vampire-warlock and kill him, she’d met Godric in a pub across from The Shores. She’d flirted with the tall, well-toned and devastatingly handsome man, whose wavy blond locks flowed freely to his shoulders and icy blue eyes twinkled in the dim lighting. They’d played darts for a few hours, sizing up each other, bantering sexy innuendos and buying each other tankards of the weak ale the pub sold. It’d been a long time since she flirted with a man and held his interest. She also didn’t care that he was a member of an enemy clan. She liked him, or as her four-year-old niece—who was too wise for her age—would say, she had the hots for him.
* Just before closing time, he had kissed her long and hard, and all she could think about was getting him into her bed. Yet that wasn’t meant to be. He’d taken his leave right after the earth-shattering kiss, saying duty called, but pledging they’d meet again someday and pick up where they left off.
* Events a few mornings later, though, shot his vow all to hell. She’d received a missive outlining her own duties. Her quest commanded she find and capture the head Winchapel vampire-warlock, take his shadow magic from him, retrieve his amulet and leave him as a withering husk on the cold earth. His demise would be a warning not only to his clan but also to all other clans in the valley that Rampartchapels weren’t to be trifled with.
