Blurb…
To celebrate their reunion after a six-month work-related separation, Alain and his partner James have planned to meet up for the perfect dream vacation. When James calls with what Alain expects to be details of his arrival time at the first stop on their itinerary, James says he won’t be joining him. He’s met someone new, the temporary assignment has turned into a permanent job, and sorry, but their relationship is over.
Alain leaves the hotel, hoping the sights and sounds of the city will help distract him from the shock of James’ desertion, maybe stop him from trying to figure out ways of changing the unchangeable. As evening turns to night, he continues walking, up one street and down the next until music drifting up from a basement nightclub catches his attention. The singer’s voice is distinctive, different, and it sounds like Kenny Dumaine, a man Alain met in his hometown a couple of years ago.
Kenny doesn’t remember him at first. But Alain is drinking heavily, and when he mentions what sounds like a romance gone wrong, Kenny recalls the circumstances of their first meeting. Alain had helped him out of a bad spot, and now it looks like he needs the favor returned. Kenny was attracted to Alain first time around, and although things never turned physical, that hasn’t changed. As an entertainer, always on the move, he’s learned to keep things casual. His last performance is the following night, and the next day he’ll be gone. Where’s the harm in offering an old acquaintance a little badly needed TLC?
Excerpt…
…After taking a hot shower, Kenny fell asleep fast, but he came awake again just before dawn, needing to use the toilet. On his return to bed, he noticed Alain standing by the living room window, his back toward him, looking down at the sleeping city below.
“You okay, man?”
“I slept for a while, but then I woke up. I feel so damn wired. I figured the beer and whiskey chasers would knock me out for hours.”
“And sometimes it has the opposite effect. Particularly if you’re also jetlagged and overtired.”
“You have any aspirin? My head’s killing me. Maybe that’ll help me relax.”
“Sorry, I don’t.” The sky outside was starting to lighten a little. Alain had taken off his shirt, and Kenny could see the rock-solid stiffness of his stance. He looked more like something carved from a block of stone than a flesh and blood human being.
Aware the guy was hurting, but reluctant to ask questions, he walked over and began massaging his shoulders. He made no objection, so Kenny increased the pressure, seeking out and doing what he could to loosen the knotted muscles, first in his neck, then in his back and upper arms. He moved down over his shoulder blades, and Alain gave a small grunt of pleasure.
By the time he reached the area above his waist, he could feel the tension beginning to dissipate. But when he ran his hands lightly down his sides and over his hips, the sudden retightening of muscles gave him a hint of what he suspected was the real problem. Poor bastard must have been saving himself up for what had turned out to be the mother of all letdowns, and now what he really needed was a little basic relief.
The waistband of his pants was already unbuttoned, so he lowered the zip and slid a hand inside, feeling warm flesh and hard cock. The instant he touched him, Alain stiffened and made as if to push him away, but Kenny held firm.
“It’s okay,” he soothed. He ran his fingers down his shaft and passed the pad of his thumb over the sensitive tip. “Just relax and go with the flow. Think of it as emergency first aid, or therapy if you prefer.”
“Therapy? That’s funny.” Alain gave a nervous laugh. “You figure I’m sex-starved?”
He stroked him lightly, knowing he was already on the edge. “You’re saying you’re not?”
“Maybe a little. Is therapy supposed to feel this good?”
“I don’t know…you tell me.” Using his free hand, Kenny eased Alain’s pants down over his hips and then began to pump him harder.
Throwing his head back, Alain made a sound deep in his throat, somewhere between a groan and a growl. “Actually, it’s better than good. It’s amazing. Just don’t stop now.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Kenny muttered, feeling his sense of detachment leave as his own cock began to harden and grow. He hadn’t had any in a while himself, but that was the fault of his erratic lifestyle and the fact he’d never been content with the temporary relief he got with one-night stands. Thankfully, though, that was all in the past. Now the deal had gone through on the new club and he would be his own boss, he was hoping his life would take a turn for something more stable. But until it opened and he had some idea if it was going to be a success or a mistake, the future was still one very big if. Refusing to think about his own sex life, or rather the lack thereof, he concentrated on bringing Alain the relief he needed. He could tell he was close, just a little pressure on the sweet spot, and… Bingo!…
