Last month I had two books released: Oceans Apart and Part of Me. This is a quick excerpt from Oceans Apart, Book Two in the Separate Ways Series. Book One was the best selling Continental Divide. And for those of you who have asked…it is a four book series. More to come! (So to speak.)
A quick look in the mirror revealed the narrow end of the silk tie hanging a good two inches below the wide end. Again. “Fuck,” Remy said. Raising his voice in order to be heard in the other room, he admitted defeat. “Goddamn it, Miggy! I can’t get the ends to line up right.” He loosened the knot, adjusted the ends, and was just about to try again, when his roommate and business partner Miguel Rojas stepped into the spacious bathroom.
“Damn. You clean up good, Rojas,” he said, grinning into the mirror. Miggy wore a black long-sleeved shirt with his dark blue jeans, and a bright blue tie, neatly knotted at his throat. Remy’s own shirt was pale gray, and his tie a muted red and black striped number that he thought made him look gay. Whatever. It was what Toby wanted.
“Yeah? Well, you still look like shit,” Miggy smiled back. Stepping close, Miggy slipped his arms under Remy’s and batted his hands away. “I’ll do it. You watch. Maybe you can finally remember the steps this time.”
“Maybe I like having you pressed up against me this way,” Remy teased.
“How many times I gotta tell you, chulo…I don’t play for your team,” Miggy answered, while his hands were busy slipping the silk ends into a knot.
Remy laughed and wiggled his butt a little, brushing against the front of Miggy’s jeans. It was meant as a teasing gesture. After all, they’d been friends a very long time, their boundaries were clear. Remy was gay, Miggy was straight, but if Remy had to go through a door with his weapon drawn, he wanted Miggy at his back.
Only the weapon Miggy had drawn against his back right now was not what he’d been expecting.
Their gazes caught in the mirror for a long minute, Miggy’s hands resting lightly against his chest, his hard cock pressed against Remy’s ass.
Then Miggy broke the gaze and stepped back. “Are you about ready to go? We don’t want to be late to Toby’s big day.”
